Education Reform
All students deserve access to an excellent education. Unfortunately, many families often have no choice but to send their children to a failing school.
For years, we have seen that more money alone does not solve problems in rural or urban school districts.
Parents and non-partisan groups must insist upon the responsible use of our public funds to stop the waste and abuse and to guarantee that more education tax dollars are spent in the classroom and not wasted on bureaucracy and administrative salaries.
We are dedicated to empowering parents to ask questions, demand results, and become more involved in their child's education. Most important, we want families to have more choices for their child's education.
Many families are ready for alternatives to public education. We support education tax credits to allow these parents and students greater access to a competition into our stagnant school systems.
Legislature Attempts to Weaken Initiative Rights
This session, the legislature is considering a variety of bills that will extremely restrict citizens' opportunity to take the lead on legislative issues through the initiative process.
Missourians' initiative rights are extremely important and must be protected. Initiatives are an important tool for citizens to use when the legislature refuses to take action on important issues, and we must ensure this tool remains a viable option for Missourians to use.
